I was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. I began growing my portfolio by taking on wedding photography while still attending high school. From there, I went on to graduate from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in photography.
After my graduation, I faced a strong desire to put my efforts into securing opportunities for national photography work as soon as possible. Within my first year out of Pittsburgh, I was involved with photographing an event for the Stanley Cup. I then took an assistant position with an international photographer, traveling across the country on shoots for several national publications including Better Homes & Gardens and Traditional Homes.
From my experiences being around, and interacting with, art directors, graphic artists, and food and prop stylists, I had developed a strong appreciation towards working with large teams in the world of editorial photography.
From 2008-2011, after my assistant position was exhausted, I remained in Erie and began seeing my name in print by taking on a photographer position with Great Lakes Life Magazine, a monthly regional publication. Starting off with just a few assignments each month, I was quickly promoted to the staff photographer by the end of the first summer. In that capacity I photographed the magazine cover-to-cover, including regional and national celebrities, food, portraits, stock, events, etc. In addition, I was also the photographer for their ad agency, Seven Seventeen Communications, which was also owned by the principal of Great Lakes Life.
From 2011-2012, I remained in Erie, PA mainly working on contracts through Epic Web Studios. I also built them a fully functional multi-media studio from start to finish.
By November of 2012 my brother had convinced me that it would be in my best interest to move my business out to Williston, North Dakota. I did some research over the past year and pretty much fell in love with the idea of the great mid-west. I can only imagine how much content diversity my newest career pilgrimage will provide to my already expansive portfolio.
The world of photography has blessed me with many opportunities to travel, to meet fascinating people, and to have experiences I would have never had otherwise, and I am looking forward to growing along with this ever-changing medium.
